About the Authors
This website was completed as a final group project for the Integrated Journalism class in Western University's Master of Media in Journalism and Communication program. The two students who completed the project are Shannon Coulter and Michael Marti.
Shannon Coulter is an aspiring sports journalist from Waterloo, Ont. She completed her undergraduate degree at Laurier Brantford in digital media and journalism, along with a post-graduate certificate from Conestoga College in contemporary media arts. She decided to begin her masters at Western University with #MMJCTakeFour to improve her skills in communication and public relations. Previously, she worked at the London Free Press, Brantford Expositor and Simcoe Reformer.

As an avid sports lover, Shannon grew up playing baseball, tennis and competing as a competitive Irish Dancer. Her favourite sports to follow are hockey, baseball and college football (Go Irish!).

Michael Marti is an aspiring journalist who has a passion for storytelling. He has been playing and watching sports since a young age and obtained his black belt in karate at age 17. While his dreams to become a professional athlete failed, he has been consistently writing about sports. He contributed for the sports section at the Western Gazette during his undergrad.
Michael graduated from Western with a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in media, information, and technoculture and French. He also attended Western to obtain his Masters in Journalism and Communication.
